Mrs. Erwin (Grace) Kelsey passed away at her home in Middletown, CT on Monday, June 21st at the age of 103. Born in Durham, CT on May 24, 1907, she was the wife of the late Erwin H. Kelsey. She and Erwin operated the family owned the Kelsey Farms, Inc. in Middletown where she actively participate in all of the farm operations and loved to entertain visitors. Grace accompanied her husband to many national conventions usually driving even when it was in the state of Washington. She was active in all Connecticut and New England States Holstein activities and as a volunteer at the Durham, CT Fair, she was the only person to attend every fair since its beginning in 1916.
Mrs. Kelsey is survived by her three daughters, all of who have been involved in the registered Holstein business, Mrs. Raymond (Isabel) Wimler, Durham, CT, Mrs. George (Marion) Seifert, Orwell, VT and Mrs. James (Grace) Harmon, Woodstock, CT. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, three of which are Holstein breeders, and nineteen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in Middletown on Friday, June 24th.
